Uncertainty is unavoidable

andrewhuth.substack.com

Uncertainty is scary. Not knowing how to move forward, or how people will react.

Unfortunately, there’s no algorithm I can give you that removes all fear, uncertainty, or doubt. You can always end up being wrong. Others may not agree with you. You may even look silly.

At some point in your career/development, there’s no authority figure coming to save you to tell you exactly what to do. If anything, you’re the authority figure now.

Move forward despite the uncertainty.

This doesn’t mean push through with false confidence. Acting like you’re completely certain isn’t helpful (in fact, it’s a red flag for me).

Instead, do the best you can. Work on improving your decision making and execution. And understand that you can always change course if you come across better ideas.
